Many people meet their significant other online, but online dating is n’t the only way to find love. A majority of couples ( 39 % ) say they met in traditional ways, such as through friends or at work And a smaller percentage ( 2 % ) found each other at a bar, event or restaurant.

In the past month, about three in ten adults say they’ve used an online dating site or app. But the share of those who have done so differs by age and money. Adults who are never married and those with college degrees are more likely to have tried dating sites or apps than those who do n’t have a bachelor’s or higher degree. Parents with lower revenues are also more likely to employ dating apps than those with higher wages.

While most people say they’ve been on at least one first date that did n’t go well, only 16 % have never had a bad one. According to this survey, first dates that do n’t ending properly are often the result of a few common missteps. These include being to anxious, spending too much time on a phone, drinking too much and making also countless gags.

It may not come as a surprise that most folks agree that a first meeting should involve eating. In reality, about half of those surveyed say it’s the most important thing on a day. But where to go and what to get are up for debate. For case, 70 % of those 60 and older enjoy taking their deadline out to take, while simply 60 % of people age 18 to 29 agree with this opportunity.
